Spring is in full bloom and there are a lot of fun events coming up in the Carolina Beach area! The month of April brings us the celebration of Easter this year as well as a lot of festivals. Music, good food and tradition are abundant for locals and tourists alike throughout the month. If you are planning a trip to the Carolina/Kure Beach area, your calendar will be full of fun.

The annual Alligator Egg Hunt offers children an opportunity to meet a live baby alligator, create their own special alligator egg basket and hunt for candy-filled eggs in the Aquarium’s garden.
Celebrate the Earth by participating in the 5K Race for the Planet. Fort Fisher will be your route as this race starts and ends at the Aquarium. This flat, mostly asphalt course is scenic with views of the ocean, maritime forest, and historic Fort Fisher Civil War site. Runners and walkers will receive reusable bags (guaranteed for the first 300), and free admission to the aquarium that day. Overall and age group winners receive eco-friendly medals too!
Rescheduled from October 2016, the 23rd Annual Pleasure Island Seafood Blues & Jazz Festival features live music by Grammy Award winning bluesman Jonny Lang. Held at the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area in Kure Beach, this event will provide music that can’t be beat and locally prepared seafood is simply the best in the region. Coolers and pets are not allowed, but bring your chairs, towels and blankets for a great day of music and seafood at the coast.
Celebrate all things Kure Beach with the town’s 70th Anniversary Celebration at the Ocean Front Park and Pavilion. Enjoy live music Friday night with The Imitations and enjoy a Street Festival Saturday from 11 am – 5 pm featuring historical programming and more.
Come join us for all the spring fun and enjoy the beach and beautiful waters!
